As of September 10, NightCafé has announced official access to GPT Image 2.5
There’s a new model in town! As NightCafé proudly let me know this morning, they are now able to let me use OpenAI’s GPT Image 2.5 Flare and Sunburst. What we are promised here: sharper details, faster generation, more precise editing, and better tools for creating and sharing.
Flare enables faster iteration, while Sunburst is slower but offers more control and precision.
Alright, I thought, this is obviously good news, so why not generate a positive guitar pedal once in a while? And AI generated The Optimist for me. Oh yeah, I could use it …
Is GPT Image 2.5 any … better?
I unknowingly used Sunburst instead of Flare – I have no idea how that happened. As far as models go, I didn’t notice much of a difference compared to GPT Image 2.0 Low, which I normally use (and which I’m quite content with). Maybe Sunburst is slightly less verbose. But there are glitches as well: in the original, there was a guitar pick (with text on it, of course) floating in the air in the bottom left corner. I edited it out in Photoshop.
To find out what the new model is really worth, I will have to play around a bit more and try some re-prompting. Or maybe I won’t. It’s not of utmost importance …
